Partnering with Fora (formerly known as The Office Group), Opem undertook a project to introduce advanced security solutions at the Black and White Building. By employing Salto SPACE software and digital keyless access methods, the initiative aimed to seamlessly integrate user-friendly security features, enhancing building management while preserving the upscale aesthetic of the flexible workspace.
INTRODUCING FORA AT THE BLACK AND WHITE BUILDING
Fora, the consumer-facing brand of The Office Group (TOG), is renowned for providing flexible workspace solutions across London, the UK, and Germany. With over 60 unique workspaces, they cater to businesses of all sizes.Â
The Black & White Building, standing as central London’s tallest mass timber office structure, epitomises sustainable workspace innovation. Constructed by TOG with nearly two decades of expertise, it boasts 100% renewable energy sources, reduced embodied carbon, and is designed for future reusability, making it a beacon of eco-friendly architecture.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Opem’s established collaboration with Fora positioned them as the natural choice for the project at The Black and White Building. Entrusted with implementing sophisticated security solutions, Opem aimed to interconnect all building locations using advanced technology to bolster operational efficiency. This entailed seamlessly integrating smart building systems to enhance overall management, achieved through the installation of CCTV and SALTO SPACE access control system.

THE CHALLENGE
The primary challenge revolved around implementing an access control solution that effectively complemented Fora’s upscale building design. The goal was to develop unobtrusive security features that seamlessly melded with the building’s aesthetic.
