ABOUT THE PROJECT
As the second tallest building in the UK, standing at 774 feet, One Canada Square is an iconic structure that dominates London’s skyline. This project presented a unique opportunity to integrate advanced security solutions within a landmark building.
Objectives
- Implement Cloud-Based Access Control: Install a reliable, scalable access control system suitable for both communal areas and individual offices.
- Enhance Aesthetic Appeal: Ensure the systems installed match the unique aesthetic of Fora’s workspaces.
- Facilitate Ease of Use: Provide a user-friendly system that requires minimal IT resources and offers seamless integration.
THE SOLUTION
Opem installed Salto’s advanced access control technology, integrating both conventional hard-wired and wireless systems to meet the diverse needs of the building. Key components included:
- Hard-Wired Access Control for Communal Doors: Conventional access control was installed on communal doors to ensure robust security and control.
- Wireless Access Control for Offices and Meeting Rooms: Stand-alone, battery-operated electronic locks were installed on individual offices and meeting rooms, eliminating the need for hardwired installations.
- Salto SPACE: This cloud-based solution features:
- SVN-Flex Technology: Easy cross-linking of stand-alone wireless locks and online access points, integrating seamlessly into existing IT networks without consuming significant IT resources.
- Scalability: Designed to grow with the client’s needs, supporting from a single door to hundreds of doors with thousands of users.
- Multi-Application RFID: Compatibility with all popular smart keycards and mainstream RFID technologies.
- Web-Based Software: Facilitates setup, routine use, monitoring, and updating of access rights.
