Opem was commissioned by Landmark, a leading flexible workspace provider, to deliver comprehensive security solutions for their newly refurbished Giltspur building. Situated between London’s historic financial district, The City, and the bright lights of the West End, this Grade II listed flexible office space is designed to cater to the varying needs of its occupants. The grand commercial space is home to numerous listed features, including the ‘Golden Boy of Pye Corner’, and has been fitted out with state-of-the-art security systems to ensure tenant safety.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Giltspur building is a prestigious and historic commercial space in London. Landmark, maintaining a long-standing relationship with Opem Security, appointed us to design and install advanced security solutions, including upgraded access control, CCTV, and remote monitoring from our in-house control room. Additionally, we provide ongoing security system maintenance to ensure continuous and optimal performance.

THE CHALLENGE

The primary challenge was to integrate modern security solutions while preserving the building’s historical features and elegance. Ensuring the safety of tenants in such a grand commercial space required meticulous planning and execution. The security systems needed to be both effective and unobtrusive, maintaining the building’s aesthetic appeal.

THE RESULTS

Opem successfully installed a future-proofed access control system, ensuring secure, keyless entry solutions throughout the building. High-definition CCTV cameras were deployed and connected to the Cathexis network video recorder (NVR), providing comprehensive surveillance coverage.

Our remote monitoring service from Opem’s in-house control room offers real-time oversight and rapid response to any security issues. The ongoing security system maintenance ensures that all installed systems operate smoothly and efficiently, providing long-term security assurance for Landmark and its tenants.

This project not only enhanced the security of the Giltspur Street building but also showcased Opem’s ability to provide scalable and adaptable security solutions for flexible office spaces.

We have worked on various projects with Opem since April 2019. Opem are Landmark’s preferred security advisor and installer for all centres, consistently delivering projects on time and on budget. Opem work with my team in offering and providing a secure system design to meet Landmark brand’s high standards; ensuring estimate requests or queries raised are responded to quickly. Opem’s install team have worked closely with our contractors on all projects, coordinating between all parties and supervisors. They react quickly to changes ensuring all installs have been completed on time and, if issues occur, Opem are proactive in finding and implementing solutions. I have found the install and management team very knowledgeable, professional and personable. I have direct contact with the directors when I need to call, who respond very quickly when I email for updates or leave messages. Following the install of a project, Opem manages the out-of-hours security requirements of the site, liaising with our centre managers & facilities department.
