Primrose Hill
Mason & Fifth, a boutique guesthouse that provides hospitality-driven flexible living solutions, recently launched their second building in Primrose Hill. The property already had a Salto KS (Salto Space) access control system installed, but Mason & Fifth required expert support from Opem to manage and maintain the system effectively.
PROJECT CHALLENGES
- Existing Infrastructure: Primrose Hill came equipped with Salto KS, but Mason & Fifth lacked the expertise to manage it efficiently.
- Hardware Issues: The property faced challenges with IQ devices plugged into wall sockets rather than ceiling-mounted, leading to potential security risks.
- Connectivity Problems: Poor internet connectivity caused ongoing issues with both the intercom and Salto KS systems.
- Cost Concerns: An initial quote from an electrician to relocate IQ devices was prohibitively expensive.
OPEM'S SOLUTIONS
Service and Maintenance: Opem took over the maintenance of the existing Salto KS and intercom systems, providing ongoing support to ensure smooth operation.
Hardware Upgrades:
- Installed an intercom button for the existing system
- Replaced a wireless Salto handle for the Yoga Studio
Expert Advice:
- Recommended changing wall sockets to unfused spurs to prevent unauthorised movement of IQ devices
- Identified poor Wi-Fi connection as a factor in system issues
Ongoing Support:ย
Opem continues to provide responsive maintenance, including replacing the intercom’s PSU during a recent visit.

By partnering with Opem, Mason & Fifth has:
- Improved the reliability of their access control system
